Dr. Whalen joined Personalcare Physicians of Newport Beach in 2007. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in family practice and secured a fellowship in sports medicine at St. Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey. Dr. Whalen is highly skilled in cutting-edge sports medicine, serving as a board member of the Academy of Sports Medicine and as a volunteer physician for the United States Olympic Training Center and the USA Water Polo team. She also lectures nationally on Sports Medicine topics to other physicians.

Dr. Whalen enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children, taking advantage of all that Southern California has to offer to an enthusiastic, sports-loving family!
Dr. Whalen is a huge advocate of a healthy lifestyle and personally lives what she recommends to her patients; she is an avid runner and cook, specializing in nutritionally-balanced, family friendly meals.
