Dr. Barke earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Southern California and his Medical Degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine where he also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Barke is a past chair of the Department of Family Medicine, a past member of the Medical Executive Committee, and the current appointed chair of the Physicians Wellness committee at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach. He also serves as an expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of California.

Dr. Barke has many passions including his family, golf, skiing, USC football and physical fitness. He married his high school sweetheart and they have two children. Dr. Barke enjoys coaching his son’s baseball team and playing tennis with his daughter. Dr. Barke is also very passionate about giving back to the community. He is the medical director of Pathways to Independence, a non-profit organization helping women at risk, and through Personalcare Physicians, provides free care to those in need. In addition, Dr. Barke was elected to the Board of Education of the Los Alamitos Unified School District in 2006.
