As a respected editor, writer, senior newspaper executive and leader of national professional organizations, Larry brings to his clients a passion for helping high achievers and potential high achievers who want to identify their greatest gifts and share them in a deeply meaningful way.

Over many years as an editor and executive, Larry has recruited, coached and mentored many aspiring newspaper writers and potential leaders, as well as taking a key role in broader management challenges. His greatest satisfaction is in helping to bring out the best in those who are making significant contributions or those who have high aspirations, while savoring the richness of a balanced life.

Larry’s educational and work background is as eclectic as his interests in commerce, governance, community and family. His first fulltime job was in advertising sales, and he once did a stint as a wiper on a tanker bound from Lebanon to Perth Amboy, N.J. He has studied at Cal State Long Beach, the Sorbonne in Paris, Harvard University as a mid-career Nieman Fellow, and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Administration Summer Executive Program. He is a past president of the national Associated Press Managing Editors Association and has served on the board of directors of the American Society of Newspaper Editors and the Inter-American Press Association, as well as those of many nonprofit organizations, including the Museum of Latin American Art. He has twice served as a judge of the Pulitzer Prizes, and is a member of the Education Advisory Committee of the California Public Policy Institute and the Knight Foundation Community Advisory Committee.

Larry and his wife, Patricia, live in Laguna Beach. Their son, Lawrence Jr., is a clinical psychologist.
